Age of the Roof

After that, they become more susceptible to wear and tear from the elements. Additionally, if your roof was installed over an existing layer of shingles, it can decrease its lifespan even further.
However, if you have a tile or slate roof, it can last much longer – between 50 – 100 years. Nevertheless, there comes a time when these types of roofs need to be replaced as well.

Curling Or Buckling Shingles
If you see that your shingles are curling at the edges or buckling, it might be time to replace your roof. This is usually a sign of weathering and could be caused by poor ventilation in your attic, which can lead to moisture buildup. Whatever the reason, curled shingles are clearly past their prime and probably should be replaced.
Missing Or Damaged Shingles
